Busker, rambler, egg scrambler… 2016 Quest winner, Jack Davies, is widely regarded for his witty lyricism and powerful storytelling.
Starting out as a solo performer, Jack found his place after forming The Bush Chooks in 2017. The group’s thundering folk-rock ballads quickly garnered acclaim across the country, taking home a WAM award for best folk act, two SOTY awards for best country song / runner-up grand prize, and an NLMA award for WA’s best live act.
They have since toured across Australia and supported the likes of The Waifs, Tash Sultana, Spacey Jane, Weyes Blood, and Newton Faulkner. Last October they released their second EP, Songs For a Long Walk, to a sold out crowd of 500 at Freo Social.
With even more music in works, 2021 looks to be a very promising year for the band. This is Jack’s first year facilitating workshops for Folkworld.
